6 Things to do With Children in Aurora This February

In the midst of winter, finding fun activities for the family can be tough due to the frigid temperatures. To help, we have compiled a list of activities for you to do in Aurora with your children during the month of February.

1. Skating Activities

The Town of Aurora offers public indoor recreational skating and shinny hockey at various times throughout the week, all year round. All of the skating takes place at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex, Aurora Family Leisure Complex or Aurora Community Centre.

The Parent & Child Skate/Shinny program offered by the Town of Aurora, allows parents and children 12 years old or younger the opportunity to learn to skate, work on basic hockey skills and play pick-up shinny. Hockey equipment such as sticks, pucks, pads, etc. are allowed on the ice surface. Children 6 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You can find the full skating activities schedule here

2. Swimming Activities

Different swimming activities are offered in the Town of Aurora at a variety of pools within its jurisdiction. Swim programs include registered lessons, leadership courses, leisure swims, and aqua fitness classes. Aquatics activities are offered at the Aurora Family Leisure Complex and the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex.

The class also incorporates 30 minutes of infant stimulation to get your child involved. Learn more about the class here.
