5 Fun Ways to Spend Mother’s Day

5 fun ways to spend mothers day blog photo

Wondering how you should celebrate Mother’s Day this year? We have a few suggestions to make your Mother’s Day truly special!

  1. Brunch

Yes, we know this is the obvious choice but Mother’s Day Brunch is a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day because it lets Mom sleep in. The only thing to note is that brunch is popular and spots tend to fill up fast, so try to make reservations.

  1. Mother’s Day Tea

Mother’s Day Tea is a very popular alternative to brunch, as it provides food, entertainment and a chance to socialize! There are several Mother’s Day Tea events throughout the GTA, many of which are themed!

At The Ireland House Museum in Burlington, you can enjoy a Mad Hatter themed tea party with Mom! This tea party features characters from the Alice and Wonderland story and activities like tealeaf readings.

If your tastes are a bit less absurdist, you can enjoy a Victorian style tea party at the Elman W. Campbell Museum. An old-fashioned style tea party in a historical setting, perfect for those who want to experience a traditional tea!

Childventures is also hosting our annual Mother’s Day Tea. We invite all mothers and grandmothers to join us on May 8th, between the hours of 4-5:30 PM.

  1. Take a Walk

A walk is a great way to spend quality time with Mom. Whether you’re spending some time on Burlington’s waterfront or hiking through the Vaughan Trail, taking a walk is a great way to get active, reconnect with nature and spend some personal time with Mom!

  1. Picnic in the Park

If you don’t want to cut a meal out of your plans for Mother’s Day, but love the idea of getting outside to enjoy the weather, plan a picnic in the park with Mom! Bring a ball, play some tag or hide and seek to get active as a family!

  1. Stay in and cuddle!

Sometimes, spending some low-key time with the entire family is the best Mother’s Day event! You can play board games, share stories and enjoy one another’s company. If you’d like, you can also pamper Mom for Mother’s Day by giving her quiet time for a nap or drawing a relaxing bath for her.

No matter how you choose to spend Mother’s Day, don’t forget to tell Mom how much you love and appreciate her.
