CV JK/SK Program
The CV kindergarten program has one primary goal: to ensure that our graduates are confident and have developed intellectual habits to prepare them for grade one and beyond. Our evidence-based, thoughtfully prepared curriculum promotes positive attitudes towards school and lifelong learning. Our kindergarten educators guide students towards academic readiness and emotional stability while building their social confidence and allowing them creative freedom. A CV graduate is a confident learner and an empathetic citizen part of a tight-knit community.
Children in this age group are intensely curious and very social. Our JK/SK program nurtures these “great brains” as they hone their social skills, develop empathy and continue on their journey towards becoming confident lifelong learners.
Montessori activities become increasingly complex and abstract as the students’ capabilities develop and grow. Our students are also given the opportunity for a higher level of creative expression through collaborative project work in their Core Knowledge classes. Educators will continually challenge students academically while remaining responsive to individual needs.
Our JK/SK classes have daily small group learning opportunities in our specialty rooms. Students are introduced to an enhanced curriculum including lessons in art, music, drama, physical education and computer science. The CV blended curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure our students are more than ready for elementary school.
Active learning designed to form intellectual habits that provide the foundation of school readiness
With 20 + years experience in the industry, you can feel confident when leaving your children in our team’s care.

As Head Chef, John is responsible for the development and implementation of CV’s food & nutrition program, managing the culinary team across all 8 CV academies. With his extensive expertise in the field John develops the quarterly CV menus to ensure they are nutritionally dense, seasonally appropriate, nut-free, nutritionist approved, locally sourced and made from scratch whenever possible. All while being delicious and child approved. Orchestrating nutritional food that children will enjoy can be a daunting task, but John is up to the challenge!
Unlike many childcare centres, CV has a Registered Nutritionist on hand that specifically focuses on paediatric health and supporting families in raising well-nourished children right from the start. Stacey’s role at CV is to work with our head chef in developing the quarterly menu to ensure that each meal is nutritionally dense so that our children remain healthy, happy, (full!) and optimized for learning. With 15 years experience, Stacey’s career has been dedicated to nourishing babies, toddlers and children. While working as a paediatric nutrition consultant for CV, Stacey also works at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto as a paediatric dietitian, specializing in neuroscience.
