Beef and Broccoli


Enjoy this healthy Beef and Broccoli recipe that was cooked up by Head Chef Kyle Reimer with your family tonight!

Ingredients (Makes 4 Servings)

1 lb (454 g) beef tenderloin

1 lb (454 g) broccoli florets

¼ tsp ground ginger

½ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp pepper

2 tbsp beef soup base

1 tbsp corn starch

½ cup cold water

2 tbsp canola oil


Mix the beef base, corn starch, ginger, pepper and garlic together in a small bowl. Set aside for later use. Wash and cut the broccoli into florets. Steam the broccoli for 2 minutes over boiling water. Remove from heat and chill under cold running water to stop the cooking process. Set aside to reheat before serving. Slice the beef tenderloin into thin slices (about ¼”). Place the sliced beef into a bowl. Add the seasoning / beef / cornstarch mix to the sliced meat. Mix thoroughly with the seasonings. Heat a skillet with canola oil. Place the beef into the hot pan and stir fry until cooked. The meat will generated a gravy, but you’ll need to add the water a little at a time so it does not over thicken. Add the broccoli to the meat and continue to saute for another minute to bring the broccoli back up to temperature.

Serve over rice noodles or steamed rice and enjoy!
