A Day In The Life: An Infant’s Day At Childventures

a day in the life

Childventures promotes a warm, stimulating environment where your child can grow, learn and develop starting in the Infant program, right through to Senior Kindergarten. If you are a new parent, you may be nervous about sending your child to a child care for the first time, and that is understandable.

To give you some more insight and to put your mind at ease, let’s take a look at a day in the life of an infant at Childventures.

Gathering

When you arrive at Childventures, the educators will greet you and your child, and welcome you to the safe, friendly environment. The morning goodbye details depend on the needs and preferences of each family. This step is important to accommodate the feelings about separation and anxiety for both parent and child.

Outdoor Play

During outdoor play, children will experience and observe nature, while playing with equipment that is both visually stimulating and encourages movement. The area includes a variety of crawling surfaces, and educators also facilitate experiences for non-mobile infants.

Choice Time

Choice time means each child chooses what they would like to engage in during a period of exploration and play. These activities are based on personal interests and level of development. This gives your child the opportunity to investigate and explore materials.

Mealtimes

At Childventures, mealtime is another opportunity for your child to not only be nourished, but to learn and be engaged as well. Based on age and abilities, children will either be fed, assisted with feeding or sit unassisted and will self-feed.

Sleep Time

In a separate sleep room, each child has their own crib, providing your child with a familiar and consistent sleeping place. Sleep time occurs on your child’s custom schedule that is set up by you, as the parent.

Small Group

In a small group setting, children experience activities related to language, literacy and art, related to developing their five senses. The props used in these activities are meant to create interest and encourage participation.

Large Group

The children shape what happens during large group time, as they choose the materials and activities introduced together. Large group time includes singing and moving to explore movements.

Departing

This is the time for you not only to reunite with your infant, but to come together with your child’s educator and exchange information about the day. At this time, educators will discuss with you the communications and experiences your child had that day.
